4th of July!!

Happy 4th of July!!!!!!

Today I am working! Getting my time and a half! Woo! It has been pretty quiet today which is nice. We are going to have hot dogs that Steve (our wonderful respiratory therapist) brought us! I am pretty excited about it. :)

I hope everyone is going to see some fireworks tonight. There were some up by the stadium yesterday that I saw from my house. I think tonight I might go to BBQ that Emily (again from work) invited me to.

The other day there was a bomb threat here at the hospital and it was scary. I was worried about it. Those are the perks of my job. Haha! The whole hospital was on lock down and we had to keep our eyes open for any weird objects or anything. I am glad that it was a hoax and that after a couple hours it was cleared.

There is nothing else going on here. I leave for Pennsylvania on the 16th! Yay! I can't wait. I was talking to Kim (yet another person from work. I think the only people I talk to are from work.) and we were discussing Dunkin Donuts, which I have been craving for the past couple years. I wish they would bring one out here to Utah. If you've never had Dunkin Donuts and you are ever on the east coast you MUST try one! They are to die for. And I am really excited to see trees!!!!!

Well I must go make hot dogs! Have a safe and happy 4th!!

New family

I had breakfast with my dad today. I hadn't seen him in five years and I was nervous!! He hasn't ever been a part of my life. He has been making a cross country trip and decided to stop in Salt Lake and see me. I was a little apprehensive at first because he has told me before that he would be in Utah but never called or anything. But he did call and we decided a place to meet. When I got there I thought I was going to throw up from nerves. We talked a little about the past five years and there was a lot of awkward silences. When we left he told me he wants to have a relationship with me. I am going out to Pennsylvania (where he lives) in July and he wants to spend a day with me while I am there. I am not sure what we are going to do but I think I will be meeting the rest of my family that I don't know a whole lot about. I guess we will see how that goes. I'm scared.

Graduation 2008

Oh my gosh! I just watched Tanya, one of my best friends graduate from college! It was absolutely amazing! I have never been so proud! I can't even describe the happiness I feel for her. She looked so beautiful!! She's all growed up!! ;) Wow! I can't believe how time flies! It feels like just yesterday that we graduated from high school and moved to Salt Lake together. Tanya is my twin and she knows me better than I know myself. It kind of sounds like she is going away for ever! It will just be weird without her at school!

I remember when we were deciding what college we wanted to go to. I knew a little bit before the middle of senior year that I wanted to go to the U of U and she still hadn't decided! After I was accepted to the U she decided that she would apply to the U as well and she got accepted!! I was so thrilled to be going to college with her and we lived together in the dorms our freshman year! It was the BEST year by far!!

I am absolutely going to miss going to school with her! But I am so excited to see what she is going to do with the real world and where she is going to go in life!! :) I love you Tanya! You are amazing!

Finals!

I finally finished my last final. Procrastination is a horrible thing sometimes. I put it off to the very last minute. Good thing it was an online final. I am so glad to be done with this year and I can't wait to see what is in store for the summer. This weekend has been fantastic so far! My friend and roommate (from freshman year of college) turned 21 and we sure did celebrate! :) And today I am in Ogden for a couple days visiting my parents. I haven't seen them in a while and it is so nice to be here and have some home cooking.

I found out a couple things that are supposed to occur this summer that I am really excited about. First of all, my grandparents, from South Dakota, are going to be in Utah for a couple days and I absolutely can't wait. The last time I saw them was Christmas 2 years ago. And I am also going to Pennsylvania for a week to see family and friends! So far it sounds like an awesome summer to me. I'm not taking any classes and I will just be working. We will see how it goes.

Well I'm off to bed or play a game! Haha! Goodnight!

Newbie

Hi!! My name is Christine! (Just in case you don't know me). I am a junior at the U of U and I am studying recreational therapy. I work at the hospital and I work on an awesome floor with some pretty awesome patients. School is almost over for the year and I can't wait.

It was my first semester of taking PRT classes (classes I have to take for my major). And I have to say it was a blast. The best thing was last weekend. The point of one of my classes was to program an event. Our event was Healthy Kids Day. It turned out so much better than I ever imagined! My classmate and I did a healthy fishing wall. It was the coolest looking thing! We had a little boy and girl come up and the boy fished and he got an orange or apple and his little sister fished after that and she got some strawberries. Well the mom gave the boy a strawberry and he got a funny face after taking a bite. He looks up and says "I don't like strawberries! (then he paused and said) I like shrimp!" Shrimp was the last thing I was expecting to come out of his mouth. I laughed so hard!

Anyway...it was a great day and was very successful. Oh and it was a BEAUTIFUL day!! Which made me way happy. It was a little cold in the morning when we were setting up but then again we were in the trees and had barely any sun. I hope that the weather starts getting more spring like. I am ready for the snow to go away for a while.

Well thanks for reading this but I have to go to bed I have work in the morning! Have a great night and a good week! I will be studying for finals!

This is the first time I have written and I started this so I could write on Will's blog that his mom is keeping up to date about his lung transplant.
