Day 7: Dream Wedding

At times in my life I was not sure that I would get married. There were doubts about my health and life  expectancy that were sometimes discouraging. I also was concerned that I would never find someone who was able to look past my CF and want to marry me.
That all changed when I met and fell in love with Christine Krell. After a little courting I convinced her to marry me. It was the best thing that ever happened to me. She is my miracle, she is my everything. Here is a cute picture of us.

Day 7

Day 7 - Your dream wedding

I had two!!! =) The first wedding was our civil marriage. We did this because we were ready to get married and I wasn't quite temple ready and also so my family could be a part of it. Our civil marriage was November 6, 2009. I really wanted to get married in the fall! It is my favorite season after all. I felt like this wedding was pretty easy to plan. I knew a lot of what I wanted and we even threw in some Star Wars things. I have had the colors and stuff picked out for years! I picked red and yellow because they are fall colors and also because Belle is my favorite princess and she wears yellow and I did red because of the rose from Beauty and the Beast. I also had red roses in my bouquet! I knew what kind of dress I wanted because I wanted it to look kind of like Belle's. And no I am not joking! ;) I went shopping with my mom and Tanya to get my dress. We had some bad luck trying to find a place that was open! But the first dress I tried on was the one I got! Also, my mother-in-law did a lot of the small details! She made all the bouquets and boutonnieres! She made all the centerpieces and helped decorate the place we got married. It turned out beautifully and we even got to go outside and take pictures because it was still fall weather!! People were a little skeptical because they thought it was going to snow! It was just so much fun to get married!

So, we did it again...

Our second wedding was the temple sealing! We decided to get seal in the Logan temple because we went to Logan on our honeymoon and I fell in love with it. I wasn't even able to go in to the temple yet but I loved it! The ceremony was quick and I only remember one thing the man said during the ceremony. I was too happy and too busy staring at Adam! Oops. Anyway...the weather was beautiful and we were able to get some beautiful pictures with the colors! We spent the whole weekend with Adam's family and played games! It was fantastic!

I think I had my perfect wedding...twice! =) Mostly because I was marrying this man....
He's a keeper!

Day 6: Animal I would like to keep as a pet

This one was so easy!

I would love to have a pet raccoon.

They are so adorable, what with their cute little hands and little bandit masks!

And they are always like washing their food with the little hands... he thinks he's people.

I have two animals that I'd like to keep as a pet!!

Day 5 Pets

I don't have a lot to say about pets because I have never had one. But here is a cool picture of a dog.

Day 5

Day 5- Talk about your pets

These are my babies!!! Tigger is the top on and she is 14 and isn't a fan of most people. We always called her our guard cat! We got her the year after we moved to Utah and I got to pick which one we got. There were a bunch of new kittens and a kitten that was 2 weeks old. I picked the one that was 2 weeks old because as I recall she was the last one of her litter and I didn't want her to be lonely. She has also been quite chunky most of her life until recently when the vet wanted her to lose some weight.

GrayC is the one sitting on the computer paper. That is one of her favorite places to sit and she sort of looks like a statue. Haha. She is the middle cat of the three and I think she is 7! We got her from a lady that my godmother works with. I guess she found a bunch of kittens abandoned behind her barn. So she brought over the lot and we had to draw out of a hat because we thought they were all so cute! She is basically my moms cat. They are both very fond of each other.

And last but not least is Punky Jr. Now you may be asking yourself, "why the Jr.?" Well, when I was younger, my nickname was Punky and my mom always called me a brat. I guess they thought that she was a little like me and decided to name her after me. Haha. Anyway...I got Punky Jr. from an old coworker of mine. She always heard me talking about how much I love cats and I was always looking at them online. So one day she told me that she bought me a kitten! I was super excited about it but my mom didn't like the idea of me having a cat when I could hardly afford to take care of myself. Well the weekend my friend Tanya got married, my mom told me to bring her with so I wouldn't have to go back and forth to feed her. She had me keep the kitty there so they could find her a new home. I was pretty bummed about it and one day my mom called me with news that they had found a home for her. When I asked my mom who was going to take her she said us and that they would keep her! I was excited about that!
I love my kitties! I wish I could see them more often since they all live in Ogden with my parents! Some day I hope to convince Adam to let us get one but that won't be until we move into a house or a place that allows pets.

Day 4 Pictures of Best Friends

Luckily I was able to find pictures taken at Jazz games. Apparently thats where me and my best friends go.

This first one has my best friend from way back... Dana. He is the guy.

This next one has my three most recent best friends. Mary, Aaron, and Christine. That made things easy.

This last one is of me and Christine of course.

Day 4 and our 200th post!!!! Woo!

Day 4 - Your favorite photograph of your best friend(s)

I am so glad there is an (s) on the end of this because I have more than one best friend!!! =)

This is Tanya and she is my twin. We were born on the same day about 2 hours apart and on different sides of the country! We have a connection that almost feels like we are real twins. =) She has been there for me through the thick and thin! We always have fun together and this is my favorite picture of us because it was one of the funnest times we had together.

This is Ashley! We have been friends since I moved to Utah in 1996! She lived around the corner from each other and spent most of our time together!! We always tried to convince people that we are related! Now I go to her with most of life's tough stuff. She always has good advice and can make me look at situations differently! She is such a strong person and has been through so much in her life! She also has really cute kids that I consider my niece and nephew!

This is Grace. We meet several years ago at a friends house who is now her boyfriend! We became friends and we like to goof off! She is such a supportive friend and has done so much for me! I feel like I can tell her anything and can be myself around her! We always have so much fun too!

This is Emily! She is my BFAW!! BFAW stands for best friend at work! I am so happy that I know Emily! When I started working at the U, she was the one who oriented me and taught me everything I know. She is always upbeat and positive!

This here is Nikki! We have NO pictures together which needs to be changed ASAP!!!! Anyway...I meet Nikki through Spencer (he is someone I took care of and he had CF). Nikki is basically my mini me. Haha. She is a few years younger than me and I feel like we have so much in common. She understands what it means to be a CF wife and that means a lot to me.

This is Adam! I married one of my best friends! He is the greatest person I know! I am so thankful that I married such a wonderful man. We always laugh and have a good time. We fight and get ownry with each other. But we still love each other and happy to be together.

So there you have it! These are my best friends! I think of a lot of my friends as my best friends! I love having people around me that I care about!

Day 3- Your Idea of a Perfect First Date

I think my perfect date would look something like this:

Ba-dum chish.

But seriously folks,

My perfect date would include Geocaching, bacon, minimal walking, springtime, and Christine. Similar to the day we got engaged.

Date Night 1/20

This week it was my turn to plan the date! So we went to see Beauty and the Beast in 3D! I was so excited! It's my favorite movie after all! See Day 2 . It was kind of fun to see it in 3D! It is amazing that they can do that to movies! There weren't many people in the movie so we sang along to most of the songs! It was a blast! Then, we went to a Thai restaurant called Sawadee. I was invited by a girl that works on the floor that I am doing my internship on. Adam actually knew this girl from a ward he went to a while ago. The food was fantastic! I highly recommend it! Also, the company was awesome too! I was so happy that Adam got to meet the new people I work with and they are all so nice to me and its only been two weeks. After that, we had ice cream at Baskin Robbins! I had chocolate peanut butter and Adam had a hot fudge sundae with oreo ice cream! It was a busy date night and we had a blast! I will post pictures later tonight!

Day 3

Day 3- Your Idea of a Perfect First Date

Oh my... I am not sure about this one. I like dates that are fun, spontaneous and no pressure. I remember Adam and I's first official date! We were just hanging out at his house and we watched a movie, went to IKEA for dinner, Barnes and Noble to by a Sudoku book, and then to my house for another movie. We had so much fun and it was so easy to be with him. Now if you ask Adam, that was not our first date! He had invited me to a movie a few months prior to this but I didn't realize that it was a date. Haha.

Day 1

Nice choice Christine! Obviously I can't pick the same one. I will go with my standard answer to this question. My favorite song is Ants Marching by The Dave Matthews Band. I just checked I have 6 versions of this song in my itunes.

I have liked this song since my brother Drew told me it was cool years ago, around 1994. I am nothing if not loyal to my music. I don't think I have liked any new music since Drew stopped telling me what to like when he moved out. I try to listen to Christines music and I am slowing get used to hearing new things.

30 Day Blog! (Day 1)

Well here it is again! Another 30 day challenge! I think I am going to try and do it just for the heck of it. I am not promising that it will be in consecutive days! =)
So here we go...
Day 1- Your Favorite song
Hmm.....this is a great question.

Throne Room (Star Wars)

I picked this one because every time I hear it I smile and I get the goosebumps. Some of you might remember that this is what my bridal party marched to in our wedding! =) It was so much fun to see the look on my bridesmaid's faces when the song started! Especially my sister-in-law, Catherine. She was the first one to walk out, I believe. I remember her looking back and me and saying "seriously?" Haha! Even though it is a Star Wars song, it has some very beautiful instruments! I just love it!

Date Night

We had to do date night a little early this week because I have a baby shower to go to tomorrow. It was Adam's week to plan it and he decided he wanted to go to the Nickelcade. We have gone to this one a few times and we always have a blast. I love going because I feel like a little kid again! I even won Adam a cute little stuffed hippo! It was out of one of those claw machines and I got it on the FIRST try! I was pretty excited about it!! We also had dinner with Adam's parents which is always wonderful. I have really awesome in-laws by the way! Anyway...stay tuned for next week to see what I plan! =)

The pictures are out of order a bit.

Best day ever!!! (Well one of them!!)

Today was my first day at my internship for recreational therapy!! I am working on a psychiatric unit at the hospital that I work at already. I was really nervous and excited all at the same time! I got there and found out that Jaimie (the lady I am working with) doesn't get in until 9:00 am on Wednesday! Oops! Luckily, the other recreational therapist was there and I was able to follow her around for the first little while. When Jaimie got there we did a group where they watched a movie about addiction. We went on a fresh air walk with the patients. We walked outside for a minute and came back in. Then we went to lunch and came back and did stretches with the patients. After that, a nurse that works on the floor did a group where we talked about thinking errors. It was an excellent group. She talked about how we get into cycles of negative thinking. The last thing we did was go on another walk with the patient.

It was such a wonderful day. I could not stop smiling all day. I knew that I had made the right decision to make recreational therapy my career path. School has been so difficult for me and I wanted to give up so many times. I am so lucky to have such a wonderful husband, fantastic family and friends, and great mentors that have helped me get to this point. Now I know that it was all totally worth it. I hope that I can perform well and become a great recreational therapist!!

I am so excited to see what will happen in the next 4 months. I will try and keep my blog updated with how it is going! =)

Date night/Game night

Today has been a pretty long and awesome day. I had to do a crisis prevention training for my internship that I am starting next week! Oh man! I am super excited and super nervous! For those of you who don't know about it, I will be working on the psychiatric unit at University Hospital with a recreational therapist for the entire semester! It is going to be a long and trying semester because I will also be working at my regular job. That is TWO full time jobs! Anyway...the training was great. I learned some new stuff and hope that I will survive the next few months!

So this week, we decided since I won't have much of a life that we would make our date night a game night. This way I could see some friends and have some fun before next week. A few people came over and we had some food and played Squint.
Squint is kind of like Pictionary except they give you obscure shapes to make the picture with. It is kind of fun! It took Adam a long time to talk me into learning this game but I am liking it the more I play it. We did a couple rounds of that!

Then we decided to play Apples to Apples!

I think most people probably know how to play this one. But the gist of it is on your turn you pick an adjective and everyone else puts down a card that they think you would pick to go a long with that adjective. It can get pretty funny especially when no ones cards make any sense!
Then, a few more people showed up and we played a round of Apples to Apples with them. I soon learn that they had brought a game too! They had brought Monopoly Deal, which is a game I had never heard of before!

This game is so much better than actually Monopoly! I think Monopoly is way too long and my hubs thinks that he will destroy me every time so we don't play it alone. Haha. In Monopoly Deal, you get cards and the goal is to get 3 full sets of properties. It was super easy to learn and it went pretty quick! You can still "destroy" people but it is so short it is easy to get over! ;)

Overall, we had a great time! =) I hope that the next few months go by quickly so that we can have another game night! Happy weekend to everyone!
