Uncle Adam
One of my favorite things about my husband is that he is extremely good with kids. In fact, he gets pretty sad when a kid doesn't like him. It is probably the cutest thing ever! He is the best uncle besides the uncles I have! Oh and Afton doesn't have CF!! Wahoo! So Adam pretty much booked it up to Drew and Karena's to see her! It was a happy day! The larger picture was him holding her for the first time! I was surprised when he actually let me hold her! He is smitten with her! He is smitten with all of his nieces.

A weekend full of happiness and a little bit of sadness
This weekend was jam packed with stuff to do!
On Friday, we helped our very good neighbors move to their new home! They are official homeowners!! It is definitely good for them because they have a baby on the way and don't have the room on their half of the house. We tried to talk them into switching with us because we have one more room then they did. But it is understandable that they want their own space. We are certainly going to miss them. They were the best neighbors we could have asked for. Fortunately, they didn't move too far away! They are living sort of by Adam's parents so we can pester them whenever we are out that way. Our neighbors that live in the basement are going to take their place which is going to be totally awesome and then we will get new neighbors!
Then today we celebrated my niece's birthday! She is turning 2 tomorrow! I can't even believe it! She is really one of the cutest little girls ever! =) She just makes me happy. We went to Eagle Mountain to their house to celebrate! We had wonderful food and had a wonderful time watching her open her presents. Lots of good laughs. After that, we went to watch Adelaide dance in a recital but unfortunately we were late and missed her dance! =( Hopefully someone will give them a video of it so we can watch it. Adam and I stay with Drew and Adelaide and watched Karena dance at the end! She is a dance teacher and helped teach some of the dances. It was fun to watch her dance!
Here are some pictures from Adelaide's birthday celebration:

Church Talk
Sometime in November, our bishop asked me if Adam and I would give a talk. He had a pretty good hold on me as he was shaking my hand so I couldn't say no. He told me that we would be talking in January and we would talk about our experience with going to the temple. I can go on and on about it and I have to consolidate it into 7 to 8 minutes! Oh man.
All I have to say is I am scared out of my mind!
I guess I will be breaking one of my fears to start off the new year. Gah!

I am not a big fan of getting up in front of everyone and speaking. I am very glad that we are talking about experiences and not about scripture or anything. Don't get my wrong, I love the scriptures but I don't think I could produce a good talk about it yet. There is still a lot I don't understand about it. So hopefully this won't be too bad.
Ahh! I hope it goes well. Wish me good luck!
Here is a cute video of my niece playing with her uncle Curtis. Sorry Curtis. Don't be mad at me for posting this. It is just too cute!

Happy 1st Birthday Adelaide and Happy father's day to all the wonderful fathers I know
Today was a wonderful day!
I called my dad today and talked to him for a little bit. As some of you know my dad and I are recently starting to develop a relationship. When I was younger I'd only see him once or twice a year and it wasn't always fun for me to be with him. And when I moved to Utah those visits were considerably less. In fact, I don't think he ever came to visit here but I'd see him when I'd go back to PA with my mom. A couple of summers ago my dad actually came out here and I had to meet him all by myself and it wasn't bad at all. He told me that he wanted to get to know me better and continue a relationship with me. Well, later that summer I was in PA and he wanted to spend a day with me and I was kind of nervous. I had never spent a day alone with my dad. EVER. When I would see him it was for a meal and that was it. The day we spend together was surprisingly wonderful and we had a good time. I got to learn more about my family and where I came from and he also explained some things to me like why he wasn't at my high school graduation. Also that day I got to meet my half brother which neither of us expected. I thought my dad said his brother and Mike (my brother) said he thought my dad meant his stepsister. So we were both a little shocked to actually see the other. He was really easy to get a long with though but it felt rather odd to be called a sister. We decided to keep in touch and get to know each other as well. Anyway, my father, my stepmother, my half brother and my sister in law came to my wedding and I was pretty excited to have them there. It was also the first time I met the women of this group and I was nervous about meeting my dads wife. We had lunch the day before the wedding and my friends Kayla and Marcus were there as well. It was a very pleasant lunch and Joan (my dads wife) and Lisa (my brothers wife) were amazing! I absolutely loved them and glad they were able to be there. Even though my dad hasn't been a big part of my life, I still think he is a wonderful man and he has tried very hard for the past couple years to be there for me. I love him very much and hope to continue growing our relationship. Love you dad. Also, Adam's dad has been a good father figure in my life for the past year and I am very thankful for him. He raised a wonderful son who looks up to him dearly and for this I will be forever grateful.
And another great thing of today, was Adelaide's birthday party! We had a blast hanging out with the family and celebrating. We had fish tacos and hit a pinata. Adelaide was so cute when she was hitting the pinata even though she had her grandpa helping out! But she just laughed and thought it was the greatest thing! =) Although she won't remember it, I will and I am so glad I was a part of it! I love 1st birthdays! I think they are the most amazing things ever! =) I hope one day I will be able to go to my other niece, Madeleine birthday some day! I imagine that would be a blast! One of these years Adam and I will have to go to Dallas and do that!
Hope everyone had a great Father's Day whether you are a father, going to be a father or just hung out with your father for the day!

This segment is all about babies!!!!
I finally downloaded a bunch of pictures off my camera and guess what I found!!! Pictures of baby Adelaide! I believe I mentioned her in an earlier post. She is Adam's niece and my soon to be niece! She is just adorable and I am sad that it took me so long to get these picture on my computer! But anyway...this is a picture of Adam holding her for the first time!! He was so excited! :)
So after a while he finally gave her up and let me hold her! :) Can I just tell you that I can't wait to be an aunt!!
Yay! Pictures of Miss Adelaide!! Now back to present day...
Today, I went to the zoo with Adam, his sister and brother in law and Madeleine. We weren't there for very long because it was blazing hot outside but we still had a pretty good time. We spent most of the time looking a monkeys and riding the carousel! Madeleine cracks me up though! She has quite a personality on her! And she was so excited to see me today. It made my day!

But as we were going along we found out that a lot of the animals had recently had babies!!! The tigers had three boys! But we couldn't really see them. Apparently tigers sleep 18 hours in a day. Lucky. Also, the snow leopards had a baby! We could see him! He was sleeping next to his mama.
So cute!!! :)
While we were learning about the new additions to the cat families we heard that the giraffes had a new baby as well! We then headed over that way! I think giraffes are so fascinating! And every time we see them I always have to make a reference to Melman from Madagascar. Haha.

Also, the elephants had a baby as well! But she is now out yet! We will have to wait til a later date for that!!

Life the past month...
So the past month has been quite busy! Adam was in the hospital for the end of July. He was in for 2 weeks! I spent most of my time here with him and kept him company! It was fun minus the days I had to work. I would have rather been hanging out with him than working but I did come have lunch with him and popped in to say hello every so often. Oh and he gained 5 pounds! I am very proud of that fact! Let's hope he can keep it on and gain more! :)
After he got out of the hospital, I let him rest for a day and then it was time to continue with wedding plans. I am a mean fiance. Haha. We picked out a cake!! Yay! It is way cute and it is going to taste way good! I hope we'll get to eat some! Then we decided to do our registering as well. We were at Bed, Bath, and Beyond for 3 to 4 hours!!! It was insanity and we aren't even done yet!!! And then, his mother and I went to Modern Display to find flowers and such for the bouquets!! Oh and the greatest thing is that I found bridesmaid dresses!! FINALLY!!!! I was having such a hard time deciding but one of my bridesmaids went with me and we found a perfect one!! Now we need to do engagement pictures which should hopefully happen next week. :)
Anyway...this past Sunday was Adelaide's baby blessing. Adelaide is Adam's neice that was born in June! His brother and sister in law live up in Eagle Mountain so we drove up with Adam's sister, brother in law, and Adam's other neice. It was amazing and such a wonderful blessing! I am so glad I was able to be there! :)
Needless to say, it's been a busy month or so. But it has been fun! More wedding updates and pictures to come once I have some time off!
